BHMK group mural and photo booth event at the Broadway Bubble with Kingston Midtown Rising

Theme: What does BHMK mean to you?

The Broadway Bubble, a neighborhood laundromat and community hub for Midtown Kingston, under the new management of Kingston Midtown Rising, invites young people to participate in a fun group composite mural, and decorate one or several panels with paint and various materials to express what BHMK means to them. The Broadway Bubble will play an audio playlist of spoken word, music and memorable speeches related to Black History and Black Lives matter during the event. (Students can suggest any audio ahead of time by emailing angelica@kingstonmidtownrising.org).

The MyKingstonKids photo booth is available to all participants at no cost and photos can be used for panel creations. The panels will be exhibited all together at the Broadway Bubble for a period of time and later returned to each artist.

This event will be led by Star Nigro, local professional photographer/ artist and MyKingstonKids’ programming director and instructor of its Photography Now program.

The Broadway Bubble invites youth from My Kingston Kids, the Pop Up Gallery Group from D.R.A.W., the girls’ organization, 1 More; the YMCA Farm Project; the Center for Creative Education and the Hodge Center, as well as, all local youth to participate. Come and enjoy co-creating a vision of BHMK. Snacks will be provided. Covid safety guidelines will be observed. All participants must wear masks.
